These are the frames from a storyboard I illustrated recently for a short film to be shot here in the UAE. The storyboard was to be shown in a presentation so needed to be drawn on a large canvas at a high resolution to allow it to be blown up on a screen without becoming too blurry. As well as this, it was important that the frame ratio of the storyboard matched the aspect ratio of the film, which in this case was 2.35:1. As you can see, this gives a panoramic drawing space, which is very good for conveying a sense of space and scale and giving drama to an image or film. The idea behind the sepia frames is to indicate that the middle section of the film is set in the past.
